After graduating from National University of Health Sciences (IL) as a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine in 2011, I completed a residency in Seattle, WA, which focused on infectious disease and Autism Spectrum Disorder. While there, I also served as a volunteer physician at an LGBTQIA homeless shelter, acting as a primary care physician for both pediatric and adult patients.
Fast forward to 2015, when everything in my life changed. I relocated to a state that didn't license naturopathic doctors, and, disenchanted with the idea of practicing in an unregulated jurisdiction, I decided instead to dive headlong into another passion of mine: nonprofit work. I was fortunate enough to complete a term of AmeriCorps VISTA service in 2016, and because of this total immersion into the many facets of public health, have become heavily invested in the field of healthcare as a platform for social change.
Currently, you'll find me wearing several different hats on any given day: running business and administration of the Connecticut Naturopathic Physicians Association, managing multiple health communications projects, and supporting chestfeeding caregivers as a Certified Lactation Support Counselor.
It's a busy life, and an awesome one. I'm always looking for new and exciting ways to shine a spotlight on naturopathic medicine, so if you've got an idea for a wicked awesome project in mind, let's chat!
